You exchange information. You need to have the right responses to the employer’s questions. You need to ask good questions. You need the right background. You need to impress. 1. It’s about their future, not your past. You need to get the interviewers, the most senior interviewers, thinking into the future. If you can't get them to imagine what their life will be like and what their company will look like with you there, you'll never get hired. How? One of the easiest ways to shift their thinking is to shift the discussion from your background and your credentials to their goals. Boom. Where do they see the company going? What exactly do they want to accomplish? Once you know this, articulate exactly how you will take them there—step by step. Here’s what I would do first. Here’s what I would do second. 2. Leaders are inclusive and inspiring. You need to be the high tide that lifts all the boats. Leaders build more leaders. They don't build more followers. You need to show them you're great at inspiring and inclusive. You're great at building teams. How? One of the easiest and most effective ways to show you’re inclusive is to make several references to the other people and the insight they shared! For example, “Hey, Mary Jane said something about this... It really struck me. I love that idea. Mr. Executive Man, I'd love to get your perspective on that especially as it relates to [insert something else here which better be a more grand something else for a deeper level of insight].” 3. Stay away from one-and-done questions because then you’ll be done. Specifically, I mean asking a great question, then receiving their response, and then moving on to the next question. That's the big mistake! The message you're sending to them is that you are a puddle skipper. You are not somebody who's digging deep to get information and collecting it all. You're not well researched. You’re not digging deep enough to get the information you need to make a good decision. Ouch. How? If you have follow-up questions and drill down in your line of questioning, you send the message you are well researched, thoughtful, and making sure you're getting all the information you need to make a good decision. It sends them the message when you're working with your staff, you will make sure you're getting all the information to make good decisions. -------------------- ABOUT ANDREW -------------------- Andrew LaCivita is an internationally recognized executive recruiter, award-winning author, trainer, and founder and chief executive officer of milewalk and the milewalk Academy. A day after chief strategist Steve Bannon vowed a "deconstruction of the administrative state," Trump directed each agency's task force to evaluate existing rules and identify which ones should be modified or sent to the chopping block. Joined in the Oval Office by business executives, Trump said "unnecessary” and “burdensome" regulations are and “driving companies out of our country like never before." Those regulations, according to the White House, will be a focus of the new task forces. Trump said reducing the regulatory burden will “unleash economic activity.” Trump signed the order after delivering a rousing address to party faithful at the nearby Conservative Political Action Conference. The order builds on previous directives to find two regulations to cut for every new one proposed, and to freeze pending regulations. While the latest measure takes this a step further, stripping existing regulations could ultimately require congressional involvement. Trump's new order calls for each task force to document and report their progress toward meeting the president’s directives. In the first 30 days of his term, Trump has overseen a considerable slowdown in regulations, according to an analysis by The Hill. There has been a 72 percent decline in regulatory activity during the first month of the Trump administration compared with the last two months of then-President Barack Obama’s term. Trump also has signed several bills passed by Congress aimed at specific regulations. They include a resolution to mitigate the harm done to the coal industry by the Stream Protection Rule, and another measure to eliminate a reporting regulation that Republicans argue placed American mining and energy companies and their employees at an unfair disadvantage because their foreign competitors do not have similar requirements. According to the White House, the Obama administration finalized more than 3,000 regulations that cost American taxpayers $873 billion. Speaking Thursday at the annual CPAC, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus TRUMP USA America U.S. "United States" Jobs Employment manufacturing "made in usa" regulation corporate corporation CEO benefits plan plans company tax "corporate tax" "tax refund" rebate offshore "offshore company" salary wage "hard work" 2017 2018 research economy business "small business" accounting results success leader leadership "american dream" factory "usa made" growth entrepreneur elite "elite nwo agenda" jim rogers alex jones founding fathers gold silver characterized Trump’s regulatory reform efforts as a “big deal.” Trump signed the directive in the Oval Office with chief executives of major U.S. corporations standing behind him including Dow Chemical Co (DOW.N), Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) and U.S. Steel Corp (X.N). The sweeping order directs every federal agency to establish a task force to ensure each has a team to research all regulations and take aim at those deemed burdensome to the U.S. economy and designate regulatory reform officers within 60 days and must report on the progress within 90 days. U.S. Chamber of Commerce senior vice president Neil Bradley praised the Trump administration for "tackling the regulatory state head on.... We look forward to working with the federal agencies to help identify rules that harm the economy and threaten jobs." The order Trump signed in January sets an annual cap on the cost of new regulations but does not apply to most financial reform rules introduced by the Obama administration. The Trump administration also ordered a freeze on regulations pending review and has stopped some regulations from taking effect.

So let's listen to Robert. Robert answers the phone, and he says; "Yes? Huh?" Patricia says: "Hello. Good morning." Robert goes on: "What do you want?" Patricia says: "May I help you? How can I assist you?" Then Robert says: "Wait a minute." Patricia says: "Just a moment, please." Then Robert can't hear, so he says: "What? Huh? Can't hear you." Patricia says: "I'm afraid I didn't hear what you said. Could you speak a little louder, please?" Now, in this case, we were listening to both people. Right? Let's just go and listen to Robert by himself and see what he sounds like. "Yes. Huh? What do you want? Wait a minute. What? Huh? Can't hear you." Now let's listen to Patricia. "Hello. Good morning. May I help you? How can I assist you? Just a moment, please. I'm afraid I didn't hear what you said. Could you speak a little louder, please?" Who would you rather meet on the phone? Let's continue this dialogue. And Robert continues. Let's listen in. "What else? Is that it?" Patricia says: "Will there be anything else? Will that be all? Is there anything else I can help you with today?" Robert says: "Gimme yer email." Now, you see, I wrote here: "Gimme your email." Okay? That is not proper English; that is not correct English. Don't write like that. But I wrote it like that because when people speak really fast and they speak very casually and very, very, very informally, then it sounds like that. But it's only proper in certain informal situations with your friends or something like that; not in the workplace. Okay? And certainly not in a customer service kind of position. So, you will see some things like that here, but don't try to talk like that or write like that if you have a customer service job. So, Robert says: "Gimme your email." Patricia says: "May I have your email please?" Robert says: "How many boxes do ya want?" Patricia says: "How many boxes would you like?" Now, that's something to really pay attention to. When we change: "Do you want" to "Would you like", it makes a world of difference. "Would you like" is very, very polite, and "Do you want" is very ordinary. So make sure that you use: "Would you like", even if you don't have a customer service job. It's just a much more polite way of speaking. Let's continue. So, Robert says: "How do you wanna pay?" And Patricia says: "How would you like to pay?" Again, we see: "Do you want" or "wanna" and "Would you like". Right? "How will you be paying today?" And Robert says: "Okay. Bye!" And Patricia says: "Thank you very much. Have a nice day. Now, did you notice that when I was reading Patricia's part, I was smiling; when I was reading Robert's part, I wasn't smiling? So, most call centres and customer service positions train their employees to smile while they're speaking, because they say that we can hear your smile. All right? And it's true. And if you go back and listen to this video, you might hear my smile even if you're not looking at the video. So try that yourself. If you want to sound friendlier, if you want to sound more polite, if you want to sound warmer - then smile, especially when you're on the phone. And even though people can't see you, they can hear your smile and your warmth. Okay? So, keep these points in mind. They can make or break your career. All right? If you'd like to do some practice on this, please go to our website: www.engvid.com. Thanks very much for watching. Bye for now.

08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills 1. "Tell me a little about yourself." You should take this opportunity to show your communication skills by speaking clearly and concisely in an organized manner. Because there is no right or wrong answer for this question, it is important to appear friendly. 2. "What are your strengths?" This is a popular interview question. They want to know what you think of yourself. Although this is a general question, there is a wrong and right answer. The wrong answer is a generic answer saying you are organized and friendly. Although it will not hurt you during the interview, it will certainly not help you either. Answer this question based on the type of job you are applying for. 3. "What are your weaknesses?" For this answer, you should display a weakness that can be seen as a strength. There are many types of answers that will work. Some answers will be good answers for certain jobs, while the same answer will be a bad answer for a different job. Select an answer that will work for the position you are applying for. 4. "Where do you see yourself in five years?" This question primarily depends on where you are in your career. A person with 5 years of experience will have different goals than a person with no work experience. This question is asked to see how serious a candidate is about his or her career. Some people might not know their goals, and some people might have goals of becoming rich and retiring early. Those are incorrect answers for this question. The type of answer you want to give is an ambitious answer that shows you really love your career. A good interviewer will read between the lines and find out if a person is going to be a hard worker or just a mediocre one. Being descriptive and shooting for a big goal is something interviewers want to hear. 5. "What do you know about our company?" A typical job interview question, asked to find out how much company research you have conducted, is "What do you know about this company?" Prepare in advance, and in a word, research, so you can provide relevant and current information about your prospective employer to the interviewer. 6. "Are you good at dealing with change?" Dealing with change is common in the work place. A simple yes will not be sufficient to impress the interviewer. This is another type of question where everyone will have similar answers. Of course everyone is going to claim being excellent dealing with change. You got to communicate that you are really good at dealing with change. 7. "Do you work well under pressure?" In most cases, the best answer to this question is answering yes. Working well under pressure is a good trait to have. However, I think if you answer that you work the same with pressure and without pressure, the interviewer will be more impressed. However, you will need to explain in words why this is better. 8. "How do you make important decisions?" There are many ways to answer this question, and if you have a reasonable method of making decisions, it will probably be sufficient. One answer I thought of included not being afraid of asking your manager. You can follow up by saying even the best needs mentoring, and you always want to improve. So basically, this could work as an answer, but depending on the job, you might have a better shot with an answer like my example.

PowerPoint available at: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Mr-Raymond-Civics-Eoc-Academy This video teaches students the structure, functions and processes of the Executive Branch of the United States Federal Government. Students will learn about the main job of the Executive Branch headed up by the President of the United States in enforcing or executing the law. Students will learn about the Constitutional Powers of the President known as “expressed powers,” such as the veto, appointments of federal judges and Supreme Court Justices, nomination of department heads, making treaties with other countries, and heading the military. In addition to this role as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, students will learn the other “roles” of the President such as chief-of-state, chief diplomat, chief legislator, party chief, and chief economist. Students will be provided with examples from all of these presidential roles as well as expressed powers. The students will also be provided with examples of the various executive departments and agencies and the impact they have on the nation. Also included in this video is a section on Executive Orders with examples from some famous ones. Finally students will look at checks on presidential powers from Congress to help them understand the concept of checks and balances. Like most of the videos on Mr. Raymond’s Civics EOC Academy this video ends with a review “quiz.” Remember that the PowerPoint in this video as well as a variety of lesson plans and activities are available at Teachers Pay Teachers. Mr. Raymond’s Civics E.O.C. Academy was designed for students taking the Florida Civics End-of-Course (EOC) Exam. However, as many states are implementing Civics Exams, these videos will work for all students of Civics, US Government, and US History. Currently students have to pass a civics state exam in order to graduate in Idaho, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Arizona, North Dakota, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Utah. These videos look at all of the civics benchmarks that will be tested on most state civics exams. As a civics teacher I have often looked for civics YouTube video clips to show my students. I hope these videos will serve as a supplement to lessons for civics teachers, US history teachers, US government teachers and their students. While they might be a little basic for AP Government students, they could serve as a refresher of basic concepts and content. I have also thought that these videos could help those who are going to take the naturalization test to become US Citizens. I have also been reached by parents whose children are taking Florida Virtual School’s (FLVS) Civics class. Foreign work visas, which are also known as H-1B visas, are known to be very important to hiring practices of tech companies in the U.S. such as Google, Microsoft and Apple. According to the report, if the order is signed, companies would have to attempt to find employees in the United States first before seeking workers overseas. According to insiders in Washington DC, Congress is already said to be re-examining the current H-1B visa policy in the country. https://www.cnet.com/news/trump-work-visa-h1b-next-executive-order-tech-industry/#ftag=CAD590a51e http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
